San Fernando City, La Union- The Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Region- I (DENR- I) headed by Regional Executive Director Atty. Crizaldy M. Barcelo was accorded with a prestigious award during the 40th Founding Anniversary of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) at the La Union Convention Center, Sevilla, San Fernando City, La Union on February 15, 2024 in recognition of its persistent partnership in protecting the north Philippine coast.

The anniversary program ensued with the Entry of the Official Party led by the Provincial Governor of La Union Raphael Veronica Ortega- David who is also an Auxillary Commodore of the Philippine Coast Guard Axillary, Philippine Coast Guard Commandant, Admiral Ronie Gil Gavan,  the Coast Guard District North Western Luzon headed by Captain Ivan Roldan, fetes the 40th Founding Anniversary with the theme, โ€œCoast Guardians of the Northwest; honoring sacrifice and celebrating unity through 40 years of resiliency to all maritime challenges.โ€ DENR- I Assistant Regional Director for Management Services Engr. Raymundo C. Gayo received the award in behalf of DENR- I Regional Executive Director Atty. Crizaldy M. Barcelo. The environment office was awarded in the 40th Founding PCG Anniversary as a result of its lengthy partnership with PCG in various environmental activities particularly in protecting the safety and security of our marine environment.  (GCG- RSCIG)PCG Award 3
