CALASIAO, Pangasinan- The Department of Environment and Natural Resources Ilocos Region under the helm of Regional Executive Director Atty. Crizaldy M. Barcelo, CESO III fully supported the first ever Miss Eco Queen of the Bureau of Internal Revenue- Revenue Region 1 led by Regional Director Josephine S. Virtucio last March 29, 2023 at BIR RR1 Covered Court, Calasiao, Pangasinan.

The contest which was a pageant with a cause was participated by the BIR RR1’s Offices where they did not only showcase their beauty and brains but also their advocacy on the conservation and preservation of the environment. It featured the use of recycled and upcycled materials for the candidates’ casual attire, sportswear, and formal attire which made the pageant unique.

Further, RED Barcelo was one of the judges along with Philippine Information Agency Ilocos Region Regional Director Jennilyne Role and Civil Service Commission Assistant Regional Director Cornelia Rillera who had a very hard time choosing the Miss Eco Queen 2023. They specifically were looking for somebody who not only possess a pretty face but also had an advocacy for the environment as a woman.
