 The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Provincial Government of Pangasinan again entered a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the interim management of the foreshore area for salt production of the 473.8 hectare Pangasinan Salt Center situated in Barangay Zaragoza, Bolinao, Pangasinan. On January 25, 2024, DENR Region I Regional Executive Director Atty. Crizaldy M. Barcelo officially handed the signed MOA to Pangasinan Governor Ramon V. Guico III. The said agreement was signed by DENR Undersecretary Juan Miguel Cuna, by authority of DENR Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga. Under the MOA, the provincial government will manage the salt farm, making it the first and only local government unit in the country to run a salt farm. The agreement is in response to resolve the salt crisis in the country as well as to provide continuity of operations to salt industry and give security of tenure to salt workers. picture 2On the same day, DENR Region I turned-over a Provisional Permit for Pangasinan Bangus Breeding and Hatchery in Barangay Arnedo, Bolinao and signed a Resolution for adaption of Strategic Management Plan of Bani, Bolinao, Burgos, Infanta, Dasol and Agno โ€“ Marine Protected Area Network (BBBIDA -MPAN)  The ceremony was also graced by DENR I Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services For. Felix C. Taguba, PENR Officer of Pangasinan Raymond A. Rivera, CENR Officer of Western Pangasinan Dr. Chester O. Casil, OIC-CENR Officer of Central Pangasinan Engr. Noriel G. Nisperos, CENR Officer of Eastern Pangasinan For. Rico Biado, and Licenses, Patents and Deeds Division Chief For. Nely M. Butic. Also present were OIC, PG-ENRO Vivian U.
