DENR-I under Regional Executive Director Atty. Crizaldy M. Barcelo, CESO III, attends the 1st Regular Meeting for Calendar Year 2022 of the Regional Ecotourism Committee (REC-I) which aims to discuss and implement ecotourism strategy in the region. It was presided by the REC Chair, Department of Tourism 1 Regional Director Joseph Francisco R. Ortega at DENR I Conference Hall, San Fernando City, La Union last June 3, 2022. Also present in the meeting were Environmental Management Bureau I (EMB I) representative Engr. Ryanne Nervaez, Department of Interior and Local Government I (DILG I) representative, Department of Trade and Industry I (DTI I) representative, Provincial Directors of the Region, Conservation and Development Division (CDD) Chief Barbara Pernia, and Region I Travel and Tour Agencies Association President. Barcelo (right photo) administered the 4th blended mass oath taking of the thirty-seven (37) newly appointed and promoted personnel on December 27, 2021 at the DENR Social Hall, DENR Regional Office I, Government Center, Sevilla, San Fernando City, La Union.

RED Barcelo challenged the new and promoted employees to do their best, step up their work and show their skills and knowledge in providing quality service to the public for the year 2022.

DENR Ilocos Region have filled up a total of thirty-five (35) permanent positions in the last leg of recruitment, selection and replacement process of CY 2021. (MSA-RSCIG)

City of San Fernando, La Union – The Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region I celebrated the 121st Philippine Civil Service Anniversary thru an Online Quiz Bee with this year’s theme: Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant-Heroes last September 27, 2021. The said activity was participated by the field offices of the region with teams of three (3) members via the Zoom Cloud Application.

The online quiz bee served as a venue for DENR employees to assess and foster their memory, knowledge, ability, and skills relative to public service and various topics such as ENR Laws; Environment management and protection; Philippine Constitution; Republic Act 6713; Gender and Development; Peace and Human Rights issues and concepts; general information;

csc 1Assistant Regional Director for Management Services, Leduina S. Co, congratulated the participants because by merely joining the exciting event will allow them to remain receptive even in this time of adversity and expand their understanding and showcase their excellence in different fields.

After all the rounds of the Quiz Bee, the all girl team of CENRO Norther Ilocos Norte was declared first place garnering 96 points followed by CENRO Central Pangasinan at second place with 93 points and a tie between PENRO Ilocos Norte and CENRO Western Pangasinan at third place with 81 points. Undaunted by the stormy weather and pandemic, two (2) undersigned personnel of the Regional Strategic Communication and Initiatives Group with one (1) from the General Services Section of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region I under the leadership of Regional Executive Director, Atty. Crizaldy M. Barcelo to conduct an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign to promote environmental awareness in selected barangays of the provinces of La Union and Pangasinan last July 26-30, 2021 namely: Barangay Lubing, San Juan; Barangay Bulala in Bacnotan; Barangay Ipet, Sudipen; Barangay Masupe, Balaoan; Barangays Acao, Parian Este, Payocpoc Sur, Nagrebcan, Bauang; Barangay Bautista, Caba; Barangays Poblacion, San Benito Norte, San Benito Sur, Dulao, San Eugenio, Aringay; and Barangay Poblacion, Pugo. The team also went to Pangasinan to carry out the same specifically in Barangay Anonas, Urdaneta; Barangays Balangobong and Pasileng Sur, Binalonan; Barangay San Felipe East, San Nicolas; and Barangay Poblacion C in Tayug.(RSCIG)

2 San Fabian

 

San Fabian, Pangasinan – In compliance to their renewal of transport franchise and as part of their commitment and support to the protection and conservation to the environment, several transport groups from Pangasinan together with elements of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) conducted a mangrove planting activity in Barangay Sobol, San Fabian, Pangasinan on January 27 and 30, 2021.

In coordination with the CENRO Central Pangasinan headed by OIC, CENR Officer Frank Vincent Danglose, a total of 300 mangrove propagules (Bakawan) were planted within the 46- hectare mangrove plantation of People’s Organization (PO)- Small Anchor Fisher Folks Association (SAFA) near the shorelines of Barangay Sobol, a coastal community of San Fabian.  The transport groups include, Extreme Dagupan Pangasinan Transport Corporation (EDPTC), Dagupan, Calasiao Transport Cooperative (DCTC) and Dagupan United Eastern Transport Cooperative (DUETCO). A total of 780 mangrove propagules have been planted on said mangrove plantation which was established by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Region- I (DENR-I) and SAFA in 2017.  (GCG-RSCIG)
