Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Roy A. Tablizo joined the Art for Manila Bay Rehabilitation Exhibit together with nine other artists of the Dynamic Art Group led by Esther Garcia (fourth from right) at The Gallery of the Solaire Resort and Casino in Parañaque City. Also in the photo is a painting of Manila Bay Yacht Club with the famous Manila Bay sunset (right). The exhibit aimed to raise awareness on the beauty of Manila Bay thus the need to protect it. Cimatu said, the bamboo poles, which had shells attached to them, may have come from fishpens in nearby places and reached Manila Bay due to the monsoon. Environment Secretary Roy A. Cimatu and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno (2nd and 3rd from left, respectively) inspect the area beside Estero de San Antonio Abad in Bgy. 718 Malate, Manila where the houses of around 50 informal settler families were demolished to give way to the clearing of the waterway. The estero, which was found to have high coliform level of 10 million most probable number per 100 ml, drains to Manila Bay and contributes to the poor water quality of the bay. Upang mas mapabilis ang paglilinis ng Manila Bay, gumagamit ng makabagong teknolohiy atulad ng skimmer sa rehabilitasyon ng ilog. Ayon sa pinakahuling ulat ng Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC), na siyang nagmo-monitor ng paghahakot ng basura gamit ang naturang skimmer mula noong Hunyo 27, umabot na sa 4,120 sako ng water hyacinths at iba’tibang uri ng basura ang nakuha sa makasaysayang ilog mula nang magsimula ang “Battle for Manila Bay”.  Pinangunahan ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources sa pamumuno ni Secretary Roy A. Cimatu ang rehabilitasyon ng Manila Bay batay sa Administrative Order No. 16 ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte na inilabas noong Pebrero 19 ng kasalukuyang taon.#
