Women Power

Pursuant to Proclamation No. 227 series of 1988, the month of March has been declared as National Women’s Month in the Philippines and a part of the worldwide observance of the International Women’s Day, This year’s Women’s Month 2019 theme is “Make Change Work for Women” emphasizes that women especially Filipinos should be active drivers in bringing about positive change and development efforts in all aspects of our society. This can be made possible by empowering women – enabling them stakeholders, and by fully implementing the Magna Carta for Women. The advocacy is to promote in advancing women’s rights and end discrimination against women as well as breaking gender stereotypes and stopping gender- based violence

The changes which empowers women of today promotes advancement and contributes development and progress and tool to gender equality. In our present society, the theme underscores women empowerment which had dominated the circles of politics, business, media, economy, national and local governments, judiciary, the military and among others. The men and women of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region- I (DENR- I) are always firm and strong to support, “Make Change Work for Women. Mabuhay ang Kababaihan!
