Surveys and Mapping Division

The Surveys and Mapping Division shall be headed by an Engineer V. It shall be responsible for supervising the conduct of all kinds of land surveys, mapping and land evaluation activities.

 

Survey and Control Section

  1. Monitoring and evaluation of all activities relative to the implementation of survey standards, and  land surveys policies, rules and regulations;
  2. Registration and renewal of certificate of Transits and Steel Tape equipment used in all types of surveys being used by both  Government and Private Geodetic Engineers;
  3. Acceptance and preliminary examination of original and isolated surveys submitted for verification and approval;
  4. Supervision and monitoring in the establishment and densification of PRS’92 control points, recovery of old control points, and encoding of Cadastral and Isolated Survey Records;
  5. Performance of other activities as maybe assigned by higher authorities.
 

Land Evaluation Survey Section

  1. Spearhead the conduct of mapping and validation of production and protection forest area sub-classification;
  2. Provide mapping assistance to local government units (LGUs) and to Protected Area Management Boards (PAMB) in preparation of the Forest Land Use Plans (FLUPs) and Protected Area Management  Plan, respectively;
  3. Provide mapping assistance to PENR/CENR Offices in relation to the issuance of Public Land Classification Status certification;
  4. In coordination with Planning and Management Division, provide assistance to field offices in the conduct survey, mapping, and planning activities for ENR projects;
  5. Conduct assessment, mapping and delineation of protection and production forests  and delineation and demarcation of Protected Area Boundaries and Management Zones as well as critical habitats;
  6. Performance of other activities as maybe assigned by higher authorities.
 

Aggregate Surveys and Correction Section

  1. Monitor the conduct of cadastral surveys and public land subdivisions, and verify the correctness of survey returns  and, if appropriate, recommend for approval;
  2. Provide technical assistance to the LGUs in the resolution of political boundary conflicts and other surveys between municipalities, cities, and provinces within their jurisdiction;
  3. Issuance of certification regarding status of cadastral survey records; provide copies of plans/maps of aggregate areas and correction of records;
  4. Performance of other activities as maybe assigned by higher authorities
 

Original and Other Surveys Section

  1. Monitor the conduct of original and isolated surveys, and verify the correctness of survey returns  and, if appropriate, recommend for approval;
  2. Recommend issuance of survey orders for original & other surveys.
  3. Verification, checking and recommendation for approval of CARP (Agrarian) surveys being submitted by the DAR.
  4. Performance of other activities as maybe assigned by higher authorities.

 

Land Records Section

  1. Undertake activities involving land records management, custody, safekeeping, maintenance, and controls of land survey records, land registration cases, friar lands estate records and other public land records;
  2. Maintain manual and computerized system (GIS and LIS) of land records management including classification, disclosure/access, reproduction and printing of land records;
  3. Undertakes the computerization of land records through the implementation of Land Administration and Management System (LAMS) on its encoding, scanning and geo-referencing of land records data;
  4. Provide assistance in the formulation of policies, procedures, rules and regulations on the creation, maintenance, use, preservation, security, transfer, disposition and storage of the land records of the region;
  5. Provide advice and guidance to all stakeholders on land records management;
  6. Testify in court regarding land registration cases if summoned;
  7. Performance of other activities as maybe assigned by higher authorities.
