OathtakingForty-three (43) newly appointed and promoted employees of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region I took their oath of office last April 24, 2023 at Ariana Hotel and Restaurant, Paringao, La Union.

The ceremony was administered by the Regional Executive Director Atty. Crizaldy M. Barcelo, CESO III with the presence of Assistant Regional Director for Management Services Engr. Raymundo C. Gayo who is also the Chairperson of the Regional Human Resources Merit Promotion and Selection Board. Aside from the PENR/CENR Officers and Division Chiefs of the Regional Office who witnessed the event were the loved ones of the appointed and promoted employees.

RED Barcelo mentioned in his message that the selection of the employees is based on performance, competency, and work attitude. “Don’t strive to speak the truth but rather control the lies, don’t try to be positive just control the negative, stop being destructive instead strive to be constructive, and instead of obsessing over success, control your failures by focusing on what you don’t want, you will never achieve what you do want. But remember, you can do both at the same time” he added.

He then challenged the personnel to do more and work harder now that they are appointed and promoted thus leaving a quote from Martin Luther King, Jr. “If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward” implying that one should continue to improve one’s leadership skills and oneself.
