Bauang, La Union - The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region 1 and the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Region 1 actively participated in the Serbisyo Para Kay Juana Information Caravan organized by the Regional Inter-Agency Committee against Trafficking-Child Pornography-Violence against Women (RIACAT-CP-VAWC) at the BNCS Sports Complex, Bauang, La Union on March 19, 2024 The event commenced with a warm welcome from the Regional Director of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 1 and Chairperson of RIACAT-CP-VAWC Marie Angela S. Gopalan. 

Following the welcome remarks, was a series of insightful discussions on various topics under the theme "Juana Talk" which were facilitated by representatives from DSWD Region 1, as well as the Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Person from the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Region 1, alongside other member agencies.
Hon. Eugolio Clarence Martin De Guzman, Municipal Mayor of Bauang, La Union delivered a very inspiring message for the participants emphasizing β€œthe important role of a woman in our society.”

During the caravan, the DENR-MGB booth actively engaged the participants from various barangays in Bauang, La Union by distributing informative and educational materials. These Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials provided valuable insights into environmental conservation, sustainable mining practices, and related matters, contributing to the holistic approach of the event.
The participation of DENR Region 1 and MGB Region 1 in the Serbisyo Para Kay Juana Information Caravan underscores their commitment to raising awareness and promoting collective action towards safeguarding the rights and well-being of women and children, while also advocating for environmental protection and responsible resource management in the region.
Department of Justice Region 1 Senior Assistant Regional Prosecutor Maribelle C. Uminga delivered an impactful closing remarks, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in combating trafficking, child pornography, and violence against women.
The event successfully ended with all smiles showing their satisfaction of what they’ve learned about their rights specifically on RA 9262 during the event.
