ASEANOfficials and personnel of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region I (DENR I) marks the 56th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Anniversary by wearing the national costume of ASEAN member countries during the regular Flag Raising ceremony at the DENR I Social Hall on August 7, 2023. This year’s theme “ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth” which emphasizes the significance of stronger regional collaboration in addressing shared and fostering economic growth and cultural understanding for a brighter future together. The Philippines is an ASEAN member together with Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Brunei, and Cambodia.
ASEAN Anniversary is the annual commemoration of the founding of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) – a regional intergovernmental organization that fosters cooperation and integration among its ten member states in Southeast Asia. Throughout the ASEAN Day celebrations, member nations participate in various activities to promote regional solidarity and showcase ASEAN’s achievements and objectives.
