DENR-1 director issues new assignments to PENROs and CENROs

 

San Fernando City, La Union – Two provincial environment and natural resources officers and two community environment and natural resources officers have been assigned to their new tasks as part of the organizational development in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) regional office 1 here.

Samuel Songcuan, PENR officer of La Union, has been detailed at the Office of the Regional Director to handle special issues and concerns while Benjamin Abucay, PENR office of Ilocos Sur, has been assigned as CENR officer of Alaminos City.

Narciso Aragon, CENR officer of Alaminos City, has been designated as chief of the Surveys and Mapping Division while Florencio Soliven, CENR officer of Bantay, Ilocos Sur, has been detailed at the Office of the Regional Director to handle special concerns.

Replacing Songcuan as PENR officer of La Union is Maximo Soriano, Jr., who, at present, oversees the National Greening Program (NGP) in the region.

Abucay’s post as PENR officer of Ilocos Sur has been assumed by Raymundo Gayo, who previously was the chief of the Surveys and Mapping Division.

Regional Director Paquito Moreno, Jr. said the new assignments and designations of  PENR and CENR officers have been confirmed by the Office of the Secretary adding that a continuing organizational development will be done from time to time.

“This is to ensure effective and efficient operation of the regional office within affordable levels and in most accountable manner,” said the regional director.

Meanwhile, RD Moreno has designated Atty. Hipolito Salatan as acting chief of the Regional Public Affairs Office (RPAO) in concurrent capacity. Salatan has been appointed Attorney IV of the Legal Division.

RPAO is a unit under the direct supervision of the Regional Director serving as the primary information, education and communication arm of the DENR Regional Office 1.
