DENR-I awarded by the CSC as compliant of the PRIME- HRM Maturity Level 2

 

San Fernando City, La Union - The Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Region- I (DENR- I) was recognized by the Civil Service Commission, Regional Office 1 (CSC-I) as compliant of the Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME- HRM) Maturity Level 2 Bronze Award.  The Regional Recognition Rites was held at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, San Fernando City, La Union last January 28, 2019.

PRIME Bronze Award is a banner program of the CSC that recognizes government agencies with excellent level of HRM based on all CSC four pillars – 1. Recruitment Selection and Placement 2. Performance Management 3. Learning and Development and 4. Rewards and recognition. The award was given as a result of the agency’s determination and invaluable efforts to promote people’s excellence for efficient and effective public service delivery. Key officials of the DENR- I led by newly- installed Regional Executive Director Carlito M. Tuballa received the prestigious award from CSC ROI Regional Director Hedy Jose B. Lardizabal. Also with RED Tuballa during the awarding ceremonies are DENR- I Assistant Regional Director for Management Services Leduina S. Co (who delivered the response from the awardees), OIC Chief Administrative Division Mary Ann Escoto, HRM personnel headed by Julinda Zamoranos and Personnel Officer Noera Caracas. Other awardees from Region- I are Provincial Government of La Union, LGU- Bauang, La Union, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Region- I (DSWD – I), Department of Public Works and Highways, Region- I (DPWH- I) and Balaoan Water District of La Union.  (Gene Garcia- RPAO)

DENR Youth Camp Held In Cavite

 

The Department Of Environment And Natural Resources (DENR) conducted a DENR Youth Camp at Terra Verde Ecofarm, Maragondon, Cavite last May 7-9, 2019.

            The youth camp was spearheaded by the DENR’s Strategic Communication and Initiative Service (SCIS) aimed to mobilize the youth in taking action and sustain the efforts on Manila Bay Rehabilitation; provide experimental learning for the youth to have a greater understanding on their responsibilities and the necessity to make ecologically sustainable decisions, leads to a greater awareness and a sense of empowerment with regard to social and environment responsibilities of the youth; provide youths with disabilities and Indigenous People (IP) access to a special learning experience; and provide an opportunity for the IP’s to share their indigenous knowledge.

            The DENR Youth Camp was participated by DENR Youth Desk Officers (YDOs), youth with disabilities, Indigenous youth from Porac, Pampanga and youths who reside from esteros in Metro Manila particularly along Pasig River. Activities during the Youth Camp were “ environmental games”, river clean-up, series of lectures on Manila Bay Rehabilition Program, Environmental Education Initiatives in the Philippines: The Continuing Challenges. Audio-visual presentation (AVP) of “Estero Ko, Linis Ko” and Kayamanan were shown to the participants. A herbal and rice planting culminated the Youth Camp with a “Pledge of Commitment” to the environment before leading back home . DENR Region – I was represented by Zenaida L. ENVIRONMENTAL WARRIORS. Over a hundred students from Grade 4 to Junior high school of La Marea Academy actively participated to the different environmental lectures during the environmental campus tour of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources- Environmental Management Bureau I on January 18, 2019. The activity aimed to raise environmental awareness among students and to promote sustainable and eco-friendly practices in schools.

In line with the celebration of the World Wildlife Day this 2019 with the theme “Life Below Water: For people and planet”, which focuses on the conservation and sustainable use of marine wildlife, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Region I (DENR-1) through the Conservation and Development Division (CDD), Regional Public Affairs Office (RPAO), and Provincial Environment and Natural Resources – La Union (PENRO- La Union) jointly conducted Communication Education Public Awareness (CEPA) through Dalaw Turo activity highlighting the importance of wildlife.
